- Mike Vansel The Philippines needs power, unless you just love black outs. You have 3 choices, 1,nuclear power and do you trust it and the waste you will have to deal with that will last for 100 years and do you trust the Philipino people to be responsible enuff to care for it. 2, coal power plants that are safer than nukes and can be built to be clean like we have in the U.S. The china built power plants are dirty and unsafe and will cause smog and health problems. 3, Just live with brown outs, you can't grow without power. At this stage of progression you need to pick the lesser of the demon you need to aid in your growth and development. I was last in the P.I. in 92, I love the place and the people but hated the power outagess you had. The power plant means jobs the the area and also supporting the area indirectly thru stores resturants health services and outside compannies. Before you make up your minds please think 3 steps ahead with the pros and cons of the plant. Jobs versus no jobs.

- Robert Martello i agree,coal is cheep and plentiful and if the right co. builds it ,it should be cleaner than conventional oil plants ,if they are opposed then why havent they explored solar,geothermal, or trash to energy plants? there is a philipino billionair here in the us that made his money in solar ,why hasnt anyone consulted him ,where was all the eco people when they built the boat yards there?, as a former service member i remember the brown outs coused by the ships comming in and it aint fun,I love olongapo also but they need to see into the future!

- Segismundo Twins I hope everyone who supports this issue is knowledgeable on what they are fighting for., In every problem of CFP Plant there are already solution available and we can use it., Like for example CLEAN COAL TECHNOLOGY., ang importante lang d2 sa project n to is total monitoring of omission of hazardous waste and proper disposal of it., recovery plan for the environmental impact, example plant more trees around the Plant., at ang pinaka importante isolation of the Plant hazardous waste in the community.,
